My Cabua-an Beach Resort Experience - A Very Honest Rambling!
Okay, so, I am dreaming. I am seriously dreaming of this place. I can almost FEEL the sand between my toes, the sun on my face, the salty breeze… I'm imagining waking up with a complimentary tea in my room (okay, maybe a coffee!), and then heading down to the breakfast buffet. I picture myself, after stuffing my face, lounging by the swimming pool [outdoor], sipping a cocktail from the poolside bar. And then, later, a massage…
I'm really hooked on that pool with view idea. Imagine the photos! Me, looking all zen and relaxed, with turquoise water and palm trees in the background. Perfect! But then again, I really need to know about the accessibility. The Abuela is crucial!
I need a place that's not just pretty, though: I need a place that REALLY understands what makes a vacation awesome. It's the little things, right? Like a good mirror, so I can check my makeup, a hair dryer that actually works. I want a place that's modern, but not pretentious. I want a place that feels… relaxed.
And the Happy Hour at the poolside bar? That's where I'll be strategizing my next Instagram post. (You KNOW I'm dreaming of those likes!) Oh, and the happy hour… I think it's
¡Wanda Realm Chifeng: El Lujo Chino que te Dejará Sin Aliento!¡Ay, Dios mío! Cabua-an, here I come! Okay, deep breaths. This itinerary… well, let's just say it's more of a suggestion of what I might do. My goal is to CHILL, people. To actually relax. (Keyword: TRY.)
Cabua-an Beach Resort: My Chaotic Philippine Odyssey (A Loose Plan)
Day 1: Arrival and… Confusion
- 8:00 AM: Arrive in Roxas City airport. Pray the flight wasn’t delayed (been there, done that, cried on a plane). I AM a mess at airports. Always losing my boarding pass or spilling coffee down myself. Gotta remember to breathe.
- 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM: Find a tricycle to Cabua-an. Pray it's not a death trap… though, let's be honest, part of the Philippine experience is embracing the delicious chaos. Fingers crossed it’s not too chaotic. Someone mentioned a gorgeous view… maybe I’ll take some photos.
- 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Check into the resort. Hopefully, the room isn't next to a karaoke bar. My sanity can't handle that again. Seriously. (PTSD from that Bangkok hostel).
- 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Attempt to unpack. Which will probably involve me dumping everything onto the bed in a glorious, chaotic mess. First priority: the beach bag. Sunscreen, book (doubt I'll get through it – I’m more of a “nap on the sand and get sand in your book” kinda girl), and… oh god, I forgot my hat! DAMN IT! I'll survive.
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch. Gotta try the local seafood! Fingers crossed it doesn't disagree with my stomach. I am a sensitive soul, digestively speaking. Maybe order something mild, just to be sure.
- 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Beach time! The real reason I'm here. First impressions: take photos and feel the sand. Let all my worries float away with the waves. Maybe take a dip in the water. (Sigh). So gorgeous.
- 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: That moment of perfect bliss that made the journey worth it.
- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Stroll along the beach. Collecting seashells and talking to the sunset. The sunset in Philipines is different.
- 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Dinner! I'm STARVING already. Maybe the resort restaurant? Or perhaps I'll be brave and try a local carenderia. Depends on how adventurous I'm feeling (read: how brave I'm being).
- 7:00 PM - Whenever: Drinks and conversation. Maybe get to know some fellow travelers. (Or maybe just read my book in blissful solitude. Depends on the company, honestly.)
Day 2: Exploring (or NOT)
- 8:00 AM: Wake up. Maybe. Or maybe I'll sleep in until the sun’s beating down on me. This is a vacation, after all!
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast. Whatever is easiest, honestly. I need my morning coffee/juice.
- 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Okay, here’s where it gets interesting. I've been told about a nearby lagoon. Tempting… or maybe a boat trip? Or maybe, just maybe, I’ll declare myself a beach bum and spend the day swimming and sunbathing. (Most likely option, I’m guessing.)
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch. (See Day 1 about my eating habits.)
- 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM: If the lagoon does happen, I’ll get photos and try to look elegant (I’m not). Maybe rent a paddle boat?
- 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Watch the sunset again, because, well, reasons.
- 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Dinner! (At this point, I'm pretty sure I'll have eaten the entire menu already.)
- 7:00 PM - Whenever: Wind down the day. Maybe try that local karaoke bar and sing the most horrendous song possible (probably something by ABBA. Sorry, world.).
Day 3: The Great Departure (and a Few More Last-Minute Adventures)
- 8:00 AM: Last breakfast. Sigh. I hate goodbyes (especially to beaches).
- 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Final rounds of the beach. One last swim and a few last photos. Soak it all in.
- 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Final check out. Remember to tip (I always forget, so reminding myself now!)
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Tricycle to Roxas City Airport. Hopefully, it’s not a bumpy ride.
- 1:00 PM onwards: Flight home. Reflecting on the experience. Feeling refreshed.
- What didn't go according to plan: Everything with the plan.
Foodie Section (Because Let's Be Real, I'm All About the Food)
- Must-try dishes: Anything seafood! Think fresh fish, grilled prawns, crabs… (drools)
- Drinks: Iced coffee and fresh fruit shakes are essential. Maybe a local beer or two for good measure.
- Places to try: I’m open to suggestions! (And probably will forget the names once I get there, but hey, that's part of the charm.)
Personal Ramblings/Imperfections (Because I'm Nothing if Not Honest)
- I’m terrible at packing. I’ll probably bring way too many clothes and not enough sunscreen.
- I get mosquito bites. A LOT of mosquito bites. I'm bringing spray, but my body clearly screams, "EAT ME!"
- I’m a terrible navigator. I'll get lost. Guaranteed. (Embrace the lostness, they say. Okay, I’ll try.)
- I need to remember to be present. To actually enjoy the moment, instead of worrying about taking the perfect photo for Instagram. (…though, let’s be honest, those photos are important. Gotta document the sand!)
- I want to be a better conversationalist. I'll try to talk to people.
- I wanna come home a different person. Or at least feel that way.
Emotional Breakdown (Good and Bad!)
- Excitement Level: 10/10! I'm so ready for the beach. Sun, sand, and… maybe a little adventure mixed in.
- Anxiety Level: 7/10. Okay, the flight is always stressful. And my packing. And the potential for food poisoning… (Okay, I need to breathe.)
- Fear Level: 3/10. Mostly just the fear of getting lost (and sunburnt).
- Anticipated Joy: 100/10. I NEED this vacation. I deserve this vacation. And I'm gonna make the most of it.
- Realization: This is more of a "loose blueprint". The best trips are always the ones that change along the way.
- The last realization: I will probably change the itinerary.
- Hopes: That I will remember this trip as a moment to cherish.
- Final advice: Don't fear the imperfections. They're what make it memorable! And most importantly. ENJOY.
¡Adios for now! And wish me luck, because Cabua-an, here I come! (And please, someone remind me to pack a hat!)
